Nearly a decade ago, I started HandsOnCeramics with a simple idea: beautiful, unique home decor and kitchenware shouldn't cost a fortune. Since then, our functional and aesthetic ceramics have found homes in all 50 states and nearly 20 countries. Despite our growth, I still personally throw, sculpt, fire, glaze, decorate, and ship each piece, ensuring every item has a unique, handcrafted flair.
My passion for ceramics began in childhood, sculpting wax into shapes and figures. This led to pottery classes, a high school work-study in a Manhattan ceramics studio, and a ceramics program at Concordia University. After moving to Chicago in 2008, I worked my way up from mopping floors to teaching classes at Park West Ceramics and began selling my work at fairs and markets.
In 2015, I moved back to New York City and joined City Potters in Chelsea. There, I learned everything about running a pottery studio and launched HandsOnCeramics on Etsy. By 2020, I dedicated myself full-time to HandsOnCeramics, sharing my craft with a growing audience.
I'm grateful for the support and appreciation from those who have bought and enjoyed my work. Witnessing an inanimate lump of clay transform into a mug, bowl, or vase remains magical to me. With HandsOnCeramics, I'm proud to keep pottery's unique blend of beauty and functionality accessible to everyone.
