Kokopelli Mug – Hand-Etched and Glazed
Celebrate life’s passions with our beautifully crafted Kokopelli Design Mug from Mara. Kokopelli, the fertility god of the Hopi tribe and patron of musicians, is known for his joyful spirit, wandering and playing the flute to chase away winter and welcome spring. Hand-etched and glazed to perfection, this mug captures the essence of Kokopelli’s playful nature. Perfect for your morning coffee or tea, it’s both microwave and dishwasher safe, making it convenient for everyday use. Start your day with a nod to creativity and joy with this unique Kokopelli mug!

Each Mara Stoneware piece is fired twice at high temperature and finished by hand. Minor imperfections are therefore a common characteristic of hand-finished stoneware products. Strict quality control has been established to ensure the highest quality possible. There are many factors that determine variations in colors that result from high temperature fired glazed stoneware, many of which are a challenge to control. Therefore each piece is unique and there are often variations in color. Only lead free glazes are used and the product is tested to ensure that there are no traces of neither lead nor cadmium.

All of our functional pottery is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. All glazes are lead free and safe for food. Do not place them on direct heat and avoid extreme temperature changes (start in a cold oven). Pottery should never be placed under a broiler, over direct flame or on the stovetop. Let pottery preheat with the oven. You can take the chill off by filling with hot tap water before putting in a preheated oven or adding very hot liquids or food. If taking pottery directly from the refrigerator let it warm up a little before placing in a hot oven or heating in the microwave. Setting a hot dish on cold tile or countertop is another source of thermal shock. Use a potholder, cork or wooden trivet. Pottery is dishwasher safe and many find it safer washing by machine than by slippery hands. However for longest life, many potters recommend hand washing to avoid chipping.
